James Kirchick over at The New Republic picked up my Ron Paul Post.
My vote for greatest comment ever: In response to one reader’s question, “What is the Jewish Telegraphic Agency?” another responded, “the Jewish Telegraph Agency is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Jewish Steamship and cotton gin company.”
Bwahah.
That’s why we simply call it JTA these days…
[Update] Following Kirchick, Matthew Yglesias, Conde Nast’s Portfolio, and The FUCKING Weekly Standard. Crikey!
One interesting tidbit I picked up from reading Kaplan’s Balkan Ghosts is that there is a Bulgarian Telegraphic Agency which is an official news service for Bulgaria. Apparently there were lots of telegraphic agencies at the post-WWI peace conferences where JTA got its start.
Condé Nast? Oy, Dan, you’ll turn into an IT-accessory
that’s hilarious. dan, what’s up with JIY?
I liked my description of the JTA:
The Al-Jazeera of the Jewish International Media Conspiracy, Inc.
